Synopsis

There were many Tarzan films in the black-and-white days: simple jungle adventures with plenty of vine-swinging. This was a big, more serious Tarzan for the 1980s, starting with the story of how a British child ended up being raised by apes, and then following the grown man as he is brought back to Victorian Scotland and has to deal with strange things like knives and forks. It is a fascinating drama debating what civilised behaviour really is.
