Synopsis

There's festive magic galore in this heart-warming sequel to the much-loved classic The Snowman. Made to celebrate the first film's 30th anniversary, the short uses the same charming, hand-drawn animation style to tell a sweet, wintry story about a boy mourning the death of his pet pooch. After writing to Santa to request a new mutt, he stumbles across a photo of the original Snowman and decides to rebuild him, with the addition of a snowdog pal. That night, both icy creations miraculously come to life, kicking off an incredible adventure for the flabbergasted boy. The escapade takes him all the way to the North Pole, before touchingly bringing him the ultimate Christmas surprise.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
