This entertaining, pacy British sci-fi predates E.T. by five years but could be seen as a precursor to the Spielberg classic. Here the action takes place in a quiet English suburb where, led by his dad’s job as an RAF chief, Max is settling into yet another new house with his family. As they arrive, strange signals scramble the RAF radars and a odd object crashes to Earth. While the adults remain mystified, Max finds the small silver ball that seems to have a mind of its own and an insatiable appetite for sugar. With the help of a friend, he soon makes exciting discoveries about where it came from and what it can do.
Chinese take on E.T, about a little boy with a new best friend from space, from the director of Shaolin Soccer.
