Synopsis

The holidays promise freedom and excitement for most children, but for Zip and Zap their misbehaviour has earned them places at the Instituto Esperanza – which, despite its name meaning ‘Hope’, is an infamously strict summer school. Sent to reform their ways under director Falconetti’s watchful eye, Zip and Zap refuse to be cowed by the new regime, and instead form a like-minded band of allies to resist the enforced boredom. Naming themselves the Marble Gang, their acts of resistance soon uncover clues to mysterious goings-on, and they find themselves pitted against Falconetti in a race to discover the secrets hidden within the school grounds. Based on a popular comic strip, this Spanish adventure film is charming, inventive, and witty.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
