Synopsis

Richard is an orphaned sparrow who is discovered and raised by a family of storks. Although he looks different and can’t always keep up with his family, Richard feels like he belongs. When winter arrives and the storks decide to make the long, arduous migration south, Richard, a non-migrating bird, resolves to attempt the journey as well in order to reunite with his family. On the way he meets a host of crazy characters, on land, sea and air, whilst also unlocking his true potential. This animated escapade has themes of courage, respect and friendship threaded throughout.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
