Synopsis

These seven short films have been curated around the themes of refugees and migration which sensitively explore the subjects through a number of styles and stories.

The titles are aimed at different age groups across both primary and secondary audiences, and explore subjects including Citizenship, PSHE Education, Geography, and Languages, as well as topics such as family, identity, wellbeing, and the environment.

Pengugee (2021, 5 mins, 7-11)

When a married couple in England adopt a penguin, he initially struggles to adapt to his new surroundings.

25 Days Of My Life (2017, 4 mins, 7-14)

An autobiographical account of a refugee's journey from Africa to the UK via her 25 days in a Calais camp.

Missing Migrants (2021, 3 mins, 7-14)

Non-fiction animation about the struggles of reconnecting the families of migrants with their loved ones.

Our Wales (2021, 7 mins, 11+)

Short documentary in which young people share what they love about living in Wales.

Migrants (2020, 9 mins, 11+)

After two polar bears are forced to leave their home, they attempt to find a new community in which to live.

Esperanca (2019, 6 mins, 11+)

A young woman from Angola recounts her experiences of being a refugee in France.

La Bestia (2020, 8 mins, 14+)

A Mexican smuggler and the young girl he is transporting on top of a train are faced with danger when he injures himself.
