War
English (English subtitles)
Following the death of three brothers, the US government orders a small group of soldiers serving in France during World War Two to head off on a mission to locate a fourth brother, and bring him back home safely. Leading the mission is Captain John Miller, a former schoolteacher, wearied by the devastating effect of what he has witnessed. Steven Spielberg's film was rightly acclaimed for the brutally realistic scenes showing the chaos of the American landings on the beaches of Normandy and became hugely influential on all filmic representations of battle since.
