This Japanese epic, following the adventures of a band of samurai, or warriors, is one of cinema's most influential films, paving the way for many later action movies. The seven are a varied bunch, united by their devotion to their duty as samurai. Engaged to help defend a village from local bandits, their only fee is a meal each day. Eventually, there must be a confrontation - and the results are some of the most thrilling and strangely beautiful fight scenes ever filmed.
A hugely enjoyable western which sees a small Mexican village reduced to poverty by a ruthless gang of bandits, building toward a massive shootout.
