Synopsis

One of the greatest children's films of all time, The Red Balloon is a much-loved French story about a young boy who goes on a series of adventures with a red balloon that he finds in the street. Although it has almost no dialogue, it's so packed with character and emotion that you'll be drawn in by it anyway. The story follows the adventures of a young Parisian boy named Pascal, who discovers a red balloon one morning, and soon finds that it has a will of its own! Together, the two set off through the streets of Paris - but not everyone is as taken with the balloon as Pascal. Beautiful to look at and impossible to forget, this is a truly brilliant example of everything that children's film can be.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
