Synopsis

Romance can spring from the unlikeliest source, as the heroine of this charming anime tale discovers. She's Shizuku, a 14-year-old Japanese girl who's mad about reading and writing stories. Hanging out in the library one day, she notices that the same boy has checked out every book she chooses. So who is this "Prince of Books"? Shizuku soon learns that first impressions can be deceptive, when she gets to know Seiji and he teaches her to follow both her heart and her dreams.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
