A documentary looking at the incredible life of Jacques-Yves Cousteau who, over four decades, travelled the world, allowing the public to see life under our oceans through his pioneering technology, ocean exploration and underwater cinematography. American filmmaker Liz Garbus uses newly restored footage from Cousteau’s archive to dive deeper into his work, inventions, journey to becoming an unlikely celebrity and crucial environmental work. By connecting the past to the present, Becoming Cousteau shows that environmentalists have been calling for greater protection of our Oceans for decades.
